Boss Is Not Around….

January 30, 2008 ladynina 3 comments

…. so I’m blogging !

I know I’m not supposed to blog at this hour, but I’m too sleepy for numbers crunching right now. Been staring at them accounts from morning and I think my brain is already saturated with numbers. The numbers are not small, mind you, and them are not printed with the largest of font in this world. And… and… some more, my boss is not around and I’m all by myself at my cubicle. Isn’t that the perfect timing for doing nothing? Hee.

One more day to go before another Public Holiday, oopss… sorry for those who are working in Selangor; no break for you. Then exactly 5 days after that, we will be on PH again for Chinese New Year celebration. Isn’t that sweet? Yes of course, but too many PHs make me lazy. Sigh. The good news is this coming Friday, I will be going up to Genting Highlands. Yayy. With some of gym buddies as well. Double yayy. They are a bunch of crazy but nice people. Don’t you think it is so blessed to have nice friends? Hee.

On a different note, I’ve heard some news few days back. Don’t blame me for having a pair of sharp ears. Well, actually that was not the real situation. I heard it from a friend; a friend who told it directly to me. Heehee. I must admit that I’m delighted upon knowing the news. I guess, nothing is MORE satisfying other than knowing that I’m right all this while… other than knowing that some people out there finally see what I’m talking about all this while… and other than knowing that some people out there finally know I’m NOT crapping around all this while. Finally. *Evil grin*

Anyways, I’m thinking of spreading my wings. Going international. What do you think of UAE countries?

Malacca Trip

January 27, 2008 ladynina 4 comments

Sunday is a nice day to rest at home. My legs are still sored from yesterday trip to Malacca. It was one heckuva fun trip. Will upload the piccies later, soon as I got them from CL.

Watched the latest season of Desperate Housewives. I’ve been ’stealing’ them from some website for quite some times already but I never had a chance to really watch them. But, after few episodes, I still think that I like their pilot season. As the season grew bigger, I’m not that fond anymore; too many conflicts, too many secrets and sometime I feel that they are nonsense. Same goes with Lost; I’m getting lost when I watched their sequel seasons. That’s why people say, when you have too much of something, you won’t see the special of it anymore. Well, this does not applicable to comedy sitcoms; as the more I laugh the more I like the sitcoms. Come to think of DH, what if we have another show like this on TV called Desperate Husbands/Boyfriends. Hah ! That would be fun (or not). The plot can be anything say, a story of how desperate a guy in getting things say, money for personal use, via several agendas say, tricked his girlfriend(s) or some other random girls by telling them say, their house had been confiscated due to long-owed debts, or their car had been taken away for the same reason or hmmm, anything the director can think of. That sounds like an authentic storyline, eh? No? Sounds lame and stupid? Yea, I know it is. I mean, who would fall for that kind of story? Even if they had done with its production, I sure do the series will have less viewers. Hahaa ! Too much nonsense there.

On a different story, we were in Malacca yesterday. Here’s a peek.

afamosa.jpg portugissettlement.jpg
1st : View from A Famosa. It was a very sizzling day. 2nd : Sunset view from Portugis Settlement. Isn’t it gorgeous?

While we were there, we (except CL) bought some cute toy bears – POPOBE. Apparently, they are the new trend in town. Mmmmm, I didn’t know that.

comando.jpgWell, the truth is, I’m not a toy kind of person. I had stopped playing with toys when I was in Standard 6 due to a nightmare. Ermm, that is another story. I saw Cres bought this bear few months back and I think it is cute. She said she bought it in Malacca, so since we were in Malacca, so stopped by the shop at Jonker Walk and grabbed some of them. This Valentine set is cute (the couple bear). When I googled their website, apparently the one with pinkvalentinecouple.jpg heart shape is called Frankenstein (hmmm…) and the other one is called Denim. Not so sure why Frankenstein and Denim is a couple in their collection though. *Scratching head* I bought another 2 bears; Commando (army bear) and African bears (sexy bear). They have so many other designs and collection. Very cute and adorable. They are also come in few sizes and the one we bought is 3-inch figurine.

Another reason why we came to Malacca was we wanted to eat the chicken rice ball. Sad news was I couldn’t consume them because they are non-halal. But, I was happy to settle with Durian Cendol from the same street. There is this Baba-Nyonya stall and they have the best durian cendol in town, so I was told. The food there are the best. Nyum. We went to some other places after that but I will write about it once I got all the piccies. Before we off to KL, we stopped by the same street again for dinner and their night markets. Dinner was great; really… they have good food here. Grabbed some pineapple tarts to-go and we off to KL approximately at 9.40 p.m. The journey was smooth, less cars on the road and thanks to CL for being a good driver. *Muacks*

Next week : Genting Highlands trip. Woohoo !

Got Money : New Baby & Mad Money…

January 23, 2008 ladynina Leave a comment

… yea, the title is purposely to confuse you. But they are 2 separate things.

First thing, yea… I’ve some extra money and got myself a new baby. Say hello to my Nokia 6500 Slide.

front.jpg back.jpg

Heehee. Yea, my original plan had diverted to this new baby. The previous plan was to get myself a sleek and gorgeous LG Viewty (yea, it’s LG but it’s pretty, okay?). I had always wanted to get this phone for 2 reasons; #1 it is pretty and #2 it’s touch-sensitive and I want to get at least one of those kind. Did some googling and apparently its reviews are not bad. The gorgeous princess is rated slightly lower by point-2 notch out of 10 below iPhone by the world wide users. I did read some drawbacks but they aren’t significant. And the MP is RM2,099 (as at yesterday), which I think pretty tolerable. Cool, right? With all the excitement and determination (hee…), I went to DM for the deal. Well, of course I forced JE to come with me (with a price of a dinner). Reached at the shop, got the Viewty with me and it was kinda disappointing. Yes, the Viewty is pretty, but only on the outside, not-so in the inside. But of course, the camera with Schneider Kreuznach optics that carries 5.0 MP is brilliant, and not to forget the video function is nice as well. The rest of the applications are up-to-date and good. The only thing that changed my mind is the colour of the display and the way they designed the icons; not so soothing to my eyes. No complaint on navigation and maneuvering of the touchscreen as those things can be explored. Just that, I want a phone with nice and sharp colours with nice icons. Beauty conscious? Yes, I am. Of course 2K is not a big deal but I want to pay for the Beauty inside-out. Period.

So with deteriorating excitement and determination (sigh…), we looked around just to kill time. I thought if I don’t get Viewty, I might want to consider Sony Ericsson but my sister had bought the latest model in town (W-series). The latest model of K-series is not pretty. The salesperson showed me P1, a successor of P990 but I had a PDA phone before. Not so fond of it now. Then, I thought Samsung is not bad. Plus, while I was phone-less, a dear friend lent me her Samsung phone and I kinda like its features. While I was busy nudging and playing with the supposed-to-buy-but-not Samsung phone, the salesperson suggested Nokia 6500. Truth is, Nokia will be the last thing I want to get in this world. Not that they are not good (they are great), but I used them in my university years. Bored with it already. I want to get some other names. But then, he was helpful enough to show me them functions in the phone and surprisingly, I instantly love them. Love the colours; sharp and bright, and love the look and feel of the phone. What I love the most is the brushed and scratch-protected technology stainless steel for its exterior. Yea, it’s just a minor feature but it’s pretty ! Looks elegance. Sweet ! It is not a high-end phone of course, but I’m OK with that. Basically, to me it is the sexiest mid-range slider phone in the market. And… again, it’s pretty !

Second thing, after phone shopping, fetched CL and watched a movie called Mad Money. It is a hilarious movie with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes as the main roles. It is a movie about money. Oooo… sounds familiar. Yea, that’s basically it. These 3 women have their own financial problems and they work at the Federal Reserve. Diane is a cleaner, Queen Latifah shreds old money and Katie is the old-money cart mover. Due to the needs of money for their daily life, they plot a plan to steal money from Federal Reserve. How they plot the plan is the most interesting part. Satisfying happy ending. You have to watch it. Well, come to think of this, what if some people out there do the same thing to the place I’m working currently? Gosh, that will be a disaster. The company might turn bankrupt and I will be one of them beggars myself. Not ‘world class’ of course, no one can beat the existing one.

Okay, it’s public holiday and I feel like lazy-ing. Have a nice day peeps !

Sunday Babbles…

January 20, 2008 ladynina 3 comments

“He banged other girls behind your back.” A line taken from a movie I watched last night. Hmmm… I don’t know where I’ve heard it before. *Think think*

Woke up pretty early this morning to send my sister to KLIA. Well, not actually KLIA but to KL Sentral for ERL boarding to KLIA. It still counts as KLIA right? No? But I still woke up early. Hee. I thought I wanna head up to gym but on a second thought, I think it would be nice to stay at home and watch cartoon educative TV programmes. *Uhuk* On top of that, I foreseen that tomorrow will be a busy day for me. So I might need some times today to work out my action plan for tomorrow.

On a totally unrelated note, have you ever used internet banking before? I’m sure you did. In a fast world today, everybody wants to do everything fast so most of us will opt for internet banking nowadays rather than queue online for any transaction. I might not an expert in internet-banking security and stuff, but I am pretty sure that the systems are all reliable. Else, maybe some of the big players in banking industry went kaput already, right? My point is, there won’t be such thing as you do a money transfer but the other party cannot receive it. Even if there is such thing (which I don’t think so), there is a transaction history in the system and you can print that out as a proof in case you wanna make any claim or something. But, if the other party hasn’t received it, and it does not appear in your transaction history either, there are 2 fat reasons; either you made the money transfer in your DREAM or you are just being delusional; God knows for what reason. Enough of the silliness, okay?

american-gangsters.jpgOn another note, I watched American Gangster yesterday and that is a good classic movie. Despite the filters here and there, there are some nude scenes remain unfiltered; well maybe not 100% nudity, more like 75%. So far, I haven’t encountered any movie, which is based on a true story, is not well directed. All of them (those that I’ve watched) are brilliantly plotted and very well translated into film. Films like Erin Brockovich, Triumph of the Heart and Beautiful Mind are amongst those that I like to watch over and over again. American Gangster is a story about an era of full of drugs and desperation and weakness, where the cops are mostly corrupted. There are 2 Americans with 2 different dreams; one who dreams to be on the top of the world from drug business and the other one who dreams to fight the drug abuse and all the dirty and corrupted police officers. I personally think Denzel Washington carries his character very well; not much of a talker crook but his face ‘language’ made his character superb. He is one heckuva cool crook in this movie. As for Russell Crowe, he has a compelling character, especially when he deals with his work and personal life’s conflicts. He is such a brilliant actor in Gladiator, Cinderella Man, Beautiful Mind and now American Gangster. Go watch it. It is a very nice movie.

Other thing, I’m excited about tomorrow. Yayy. I can’t wait. As at now, have a nice day, people !

The Devilish Plan

January 14, 2008 ladynina Leave a comment

I heard the most hilarious joke today. The joke is so hilarious that I laughed till I hurt my jaw and I cramped my stomach. I feel like laughing so hard till the whole Pavilion can hear my happy voice just now. Yea… yea… it sounds exaggerating. So?? Though I know how does it feel to win a fight but this one is a totally different thing. I think I’m the happiest person in this world upon hearing the joke. Now I have a good stock of laugh for one year. Aaaaaaah…… revenge-but-not-by-me is still so priceless ! Very priceless indeed.

So next time, if you feel like fooling yourself in front of other people, please be really sure and 100% sure that they don’t have any contact of you or a significant person to you, in whatever form it is i.e. email address. You might not know what will you get in your inbox tomorrow. MUAHAHAAAHAHAHAAAA !!!! This is freaking hilarious. Mmmm…. here’s a thought. Why don’t everyone who is affected by this numbnuts, do the similar thing? Let the world know. Get back whatever is belonged to you. You have nothing to lose but a 100% money-back guarantee. How cool is that? Hahaa ! Unless you’ve decided to make them a forever-welfare thing, then you’re so doomed. Well, other than that, well done babe ! Well done !!!

Hmmm…… come to think of this, I feel like doing something devilish myself too. I should contact someone tomorrow to get a copy of something something from her. MUAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA !!!! I’m sooooooooo gonna love my plan.

New Interest

One of my weaknesses is easy to be influenced by things I saw on TV. Strangely, I hardly find myself be intimidated by human being per se; no matter how strong their characters are. That explains why people cannot make me cry but I can make them cry with 1 mean sentence. Not proud, but that’s my dark trait. But apparently, my dead-inside heart doesn’t work well with media materials. Once, I had to run through the rain to the nearby shop just to get myself a packet of groundnut. Yea, I was on my rest day due to fever and the thought of watching Erin Brockovich came to my mind. Plugged in them DVD player and watched Julia Robert gracefully in her character. There was one scene where Erin (JR) is interviewing one of her informers in a bar (it is a bar if I’m not mistaken) and they both are having peanuts. Kinda clueless till today as to why is that peanut looked so appealing to me as to compare to them sodas they are drinking, where, as a matter of fact, I had few sodas sitting in my fridge at the time of this event occurred. Hmmm. Well, that is not my point. My point is, I can easily be influenced by things I see.

So, I was watching a documentary on Rock Climbing few days ago, where the thought of doing wall climbing as a new outdoor activity sounds so great. I must admit that I’m impressed with the strength that these people have while conquering that piece of rock. It is amazing to see how strong their legs and arms are and I couldn’t help it but to wish I could have the same strength for mine. I could easily imagining myself as Abigail Whistler, played by Jessica Biel in Blade : Trinity. She is one heckuva strong slayer in that movie and definitely has a pair of super nice arms.

Okay, back to the documentary. Even after I’ve finished with them, the idea of rock climbing still boggles my mind. Very fresh. So, I browsed through Camp 5 website this morning and I must say I’m interested to take part in one of their basic courses. I don’t know whether I’m up for this kind of activity or not, but I always think that there is no harm trying. I once thought I couldn’t finish my horse riding course (because horse is difficult and scary) but hey, I did it well and now I can ride a horse without guardian. It just that for this wall climbing course, I need to find some other friends who have the same interest like me and we form a small group, then only we can register for that 4-hour course. Ermm, anyone game for this? Maybe I’ll give them a call tomorrow and check whether it is fine to register without a small group. Yayy ! This is so exciting. Something challenging to look forward to.

On the other flip, my sister will be in town on Monday. Yayy. This means a tonne of movie plans and of course each of them will involve coffee. Woohooo. Sweet ! I can start to hear the sound of birds again.
